The hypnobirthing course with Harriet has given Dan and I some incredible tools and confidence heading in to our first birth experience. Learning the physiology of what happens during birth was enlightening for both of us! Harriet is incredibly knowledgable and answered all of our questions that had been running through our minds. The course has been an incredible step in our birth journey helping us to feel calm and relaxed. I'm now so excited for the day to come and to embrace my birthing experience, whatever that should be! Thank you Harriet!

My Fiancé and I recently completed a course with Harriet from Every Breath - we're both so pleased that we did! We learned so much and really enjoyed the sessions. Harriet delivers her classes in a really unique and engaging way; extremely informative whilst always doing her best to make sure we were both relaxed and comfortable at all times. She was always happy to answer any questions we had - of which we had many!

I would wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more about hypnobirthing from someone with a kind heart and lots of specialist knowledge on the subject.  Thank you Harriet for making our time learning with you so memorable; we are both extremely grateful!

From early on in my pregnancy, I knew I wanted to give hypnobirthing a go. I knew people who had tried and it really worked for them and I thought it would be a good way for me to take back some control from my anxiety! We contacted Harriet and arranged a private course for when I was around 22 weeks pregnant.

It was a really nice warm, relaxed set up and we both felt at ease very quickly. The combination of learning the science alongside the physical practices worked really well for me. I found the science fascinating and it made me realise how little I actually knew about the birth process and what my body would actually do! In that moment, the idea of labour and giving birth suddenly felt a whole lot less scary.
I used some of the exercises Harriet recommended throughout the remainder of my pregnancy. I found this beneficial in moments of worry, as well as it being good practice for the pending big day (or days as it turned out!).

Once labour began for me, I stayed at home for as long as I felt happy, using just breathing exercises to keep me calm and labour progressing. By the time I got to hospital, I was already 6cm dilated and I felt pretty pleased with myself! However, things did then slow up and I ended up needing more medical intervention. As time went on, one consultant advised me that I would need to be taken for a c-section. This is where hypnobirthing helped further, both my husband and I felt comfortable to question the decisions and ask for the information to make the right decision for us and our baby. All was well with the baby, the main reason a c-section was suggested was because of that particular hospital's policy on time frames. That consultant's shift then finished and a new one took over, as well as a new midwife. They approached things slightly differently and realised that the baby's head was tilted, hence why I couldn't quite push her out. Armed with that knowledge, we were then given the options available and we all came to the right decision for us. I was getting anxious by this point but I trusted my husband entirely to be my voice.

And a short while later, our beautiful baby girl was born!

For me, hypnobirthing gave me knowledge and confidence. I felt it gave me a voice during labour when faced with hospital procedures as well as the physical exercises to fall back on when I needed to keep myself calm. I also loved that it made sure my husband and I were on the same page and he wasn't just a spare part.

I would recommend all expectant mothers and fathers to give hypnobirthing a go, and Harriet at Every Breath delivers a lovely course. Thank you Harriet!

We booked the weekend hypnobirthing course when we were expecting our first little one. We did this rather than any other antenatal classes as we figured we wanted one source of information rather than multiple.

The course was not entirely what I expected - Hypnobirthing sounds a bit airy fairy from a bloke's perspective, but it had far more depth and science to it and gave us a proper understanding of what was going to be happening during labour and giving birth. Armed with this information it teaches you to have the confidence to take control of situations and be able to listen to what the midwifes are telling you and properly understand your options.

It gave my wife and me shared terminology to use and also got us to discuss the various options and scenarios and how we would deal with them. It really made us a team during the labour and birthing. I can imagine without this it would have been very much my wife doing the work and me feeling like a bit of a spare part! Instead I felt like I was properly involved in the birthing (although the wife clearly did most of the work!!).

Labour for us sadly wasn't the smoothest process as our little one just didn't really play ball despite the wife's very best efforts - However due to the course we were prepared and dealt with it. It would have been far more difficult and we would have felt much more out of control without the course.

If you have any preconceptions then drop them, as this is a really good system.
